Ordering people to do a job is much easier than doing it yourself. I find myself in the same position as Tony only hours ago as I drag Harrison’s corpse into the house he held Lacey captive in.

I stayed with Miles′ team until the helicopter left, taking Sera and Knox to hospital. Reed and Gopher stayed to help me clean up some of the mess. Being this far out, calling a clean-up crew is out of the question. They’ve been sweeping the area for shell casings and evidence pointing to us while I attend to other matters.

There’s only one solution for this. Burn it to the ground.

It seems to be a running theme lately.

I drop the fuckface on the ground, deciding to take a look through the house to see how hard Lacey fought to get out of here.

Blood lines the stairs leading outside, so I’m careful to avoid it as I take the steps two at a time. I’d hate to carry evidence out of the house with me.

I find the door kicked in down the end of the hall and am shocked when I round the frame. The bed is upturned, there’s broken porcelain and wood littering the carpet. Blood stains a large portion of the room beside the door. I’m in awe of Lacey’s strength and determination to get free on her own.

I swipe at my forehead with my forearm, the warmth of the sun hitting me hard from the window. I take one more sweep of the room when my eyes catch on something glinting in the sun. I walk over to the bed and tucked underneath is a little pocketknife.

I pick it up and inspect its handle.

“I’ll be damned.” It’s one of Tony’s that he keeps at the mansion. He’s not the only one who catalogs his weapons. Those women have a lot of explaining to do when I return as this makes me immensely proud.

I pocket the knife and leave the room. I don’t need to see any more here. I need to find something that will get rid of the evidence. I walk around the house looking for something suitable to use as an accelerant. I spy a little shed around the back and after prying the locked door open, I find a full gas can inside perfect for what I intend to do.

I empty the stale liquid all over the kitchen and living room furniture, making sure it’s well doused, along with the dead body.

I track some of the gas out the door so I can light the house up without getting caught in the fumes. Adrenaline courses through my veins thinking of the beautiful masterpiece I’m about to create.

I forgot how exciting this shit is.

I throw the gas can back inside, then take a cigarette from my pocket and light it. I enjoy the first few inhales, riding the thrill, then throw it towards the house.

The glow of the smoke catches the accelerant soon after, and I watch as the fire tracks into the house.
